MLK and snowmen

Here are the MLK facts that we glue on the bottom of the MLK art project.  I know it's too late for this year, but you can file them away for next year:
Martin Luther King Facts

I put a bunch on a page so you could save paper.

Now for the snowmen.  We used the patterns from Oceans of First Grade Fun.  Since we were working on writing describing sentences last week, I had the kids write sentences to describe their snowman.  Yep, you can get the writing sheets from Ms. A's website too (just click the link above to go directly to the post).  When everyone had finished their writing, we played a little game where the child read his/her description and we had to guess which snowman was theirs.  The kids had a lot of fun and it taught them to be specific when they were writing their description.  For example, one child wrote that his had 3 buttons and 3 snowballs.  He soon discovered that this wasn't a good description because they all had 3 buttons and 3 snowballs.  We then posted the snowmen and the descriptions in the hall so everyone could have fun guessing!

Aren't they cute?
