Apple Week(s)

This week, we began our study of apples.  We spent this week talking about Johnny Appleseed.  We even had Tasty Tuesday - we made apple pizzas!  YUM (and they make the classroom smell sooooo good)!  Anyway, I wanted to share some sheets that I made to go with these apple books:

Picking Apples by Margaret McNamara

Amazing Apples by Jeff Bauer
Apples by Jenne Simon

Big Red Apple by Tony Johnston

I like to send home books that go with the theme we are studying as they are often more interesting than the take home readers that come with our reading series.  The homework sheets I made are nothing fancy, but they do give the students the chance to practice writing answers in complete sentences and going back in the story to find the answers to questions.  You can pick them up below if you think you can use them.

I'm waiting on a parent to send me the pictures from our Tasty Tuesday.  I gave my camera to my mother in law.  She took my kids to Mickey's Halloween Party at DisneyWorld this weekend!  I'll post them when I get them.  So, how many of you do a bunch of apple activities this time of year?
