Math Workstation Rotation Dots
So I just finished reading Guided Math and am beginning Debbie Diller's Math Workstations book. My plan was to read it in time to keep up with the book study on the different blogs, but that didn't work out so well. I'll just have to go back and read the posts.
Anyway, Diller suggests using numbers on your workstation management board to show the kids which station they will be working in. She also suggests using 2 different colors (1 for each round). So, since I'm doing a polka dot "theme" in my room next year, I thought that these would be cute for my rotation chart. If you like these, feel free to grab them. If you'd like different colors to go with your classroom, shoot me an email and I'll try to get them customized for you!

SUCCESS!!!
Yeah! I did it! I figured out the whole blog button thing! In answer to my last post, yes, it was just me (I was copying the wrong code for the picture). Thank you so much Leslie for your help (and for this cute design). If you haven't checked out Leslie's site, you need to go right now. She has some great ideas and is a wonderful help to newbie bloggers like me!
GRRR!
Ok, should it really be this hard, or is it just me? First of all, Leslie, thank you for the great tutorial on adding the "Grab My Button" box. As you can see, I figured that part out. Now, however, I can't get the picture of the button to show up. I have copied and pasted the html code, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong!!! Can anyone help me?

New Blog Button (but I still need a little help!)
So a MILLION thanks to Leslie at Kindergartenworks for creating a blog button for me to use until I could figure out the whole button thing. Maybe it's just the computer I'm working on (I'm at my Momma's for a couple of weeks and her computer is...well...not the best), and maybe it's my extreme lack of blogging knowledge (don't laugh), but I can get the button to appear on my sidebar - I just can't figure out how to get the code below it so people can grab it. Any suggestions?

Teacher Information Sheet
So, I have to admit the end of the year snuck up on me. All of a sudden, it was the end of May and I was scrambling to figure out what to get my children's teachers for end of the year gifts. Now, I have to say that this year was tough, because my children had 11 teachers between the two of them (my daughter had 3 teachers, my son had 1 teacher and 2 aides and then they have 5 resource teachers). So to avoid this problem next year, I've decided to have their teachers fill out this little information sheet at the beginning of the year. I figure, we get a ton of information sheets on our students, why not get one for your child's teacher as well?

A Helpful Hint and Another Giveaway
So every year, I laminate my name tags and anything else I put the kids names on that I want to last all year or that I want to keep and use another year. I spent years thinking that I was being so smart and saving money (which I was), but at the end of every year, I would find myself scrubbing the names off and thinking, "Is this really worth it?" If you've ever used nail polish remover, white board cleaner, etc to scrub names off, you know that it really dries your hands out and, at the end of the year, you're so tired you really don't want to take the time to do it.
So this year, about January, I had a "duh" moment. I typed up all the kids names, printed them out, and taped them on cute little owls (we had a camping theme this year), leaving just the bottom edge untaped. Then, all I had to do was grab the bottom of the name and pull it off! No more scrubbing or dry skin. I know...all of you have probably been doing that forever, but no one mentioned it to me! If you don't want to use tape, I have also found that the Mr. Clean magic eraser works wonderfully too and since it just uses water, you can have a student do it for you before they go home for the year. I know they would LOVE that job!
On another note, the Lesson Plan Diva is having the best kind of giveaway - the kind where everyone wins! Just head on over and win!
It only lasts for a few more hours, so hurry!
